I have finally began the modelling stages of the project! Week 4 started with a huge burst of inspiration after a week of slump.
The early stages of the Kitchen Model are all about getting the basic foundations down. The first step was to make a basic layout shell for the main kitchen counters. This was pretty easy as I already had a solid idea of how I wanted things to look.
The difficulty began when it came to creating the “focus piece” which I wanted to be the Island Counter inspired by the Milano Contour Island Counter mentioned in a previous post.
Back To The Drawing Board
After the multiple failed attempts to create an Angled Island Counter, I have decided that spending anymore time on this idea will seriously damage any progress I intend to make.
I’m still intending to create an unique Island Counter for the kitchen model. To help me get a better understanding of Contemporary Island Counter styles, I have began adding to my ICA Moodboard on Pinterest. During this secondary planning stage, I aim to be a lot more focused on an overall design instead of jumping from multiple ideas or latching to a single idea and ignoring any other ideas.
The Weeks Ahead!
For week 5 I am aiming to have a new concept art piece created for my model and to have began adding more details to the model such as creating the cabinets, worktops and appliences. At this time I am also thinking about lighting and how I want that to look.
